Six years before the annual January festival began, Tamworth's Capital Country Music Association was providing an opportunity for amateur country music talent to start their careers in Australian country music.
Since then, thousands of promising new young stars have come through the ranks of the CCMA's National Talent Quest, including the likes of Lee Kernaghan, Keith Urban, Felicity Urquhart, Katrina Burgoyne, Aleyce Simmonds and Allan Caswell.
This January, the 46th CCMA National Talent Quest will again provide this vital opportunity and outlet for new Australian country music talent over two days, Thursday and Friday January 26 and 27, winners from which will feature in the annual CCMA Jamboree Concert in the afternoon of Saturday January 28.
