TALENT PACKED GALA AUSTRALIAN BUSH LAUREATE AWARDS PRESENTATION

Fans of Australian bush verse and country music are preparing for what has been described as a “talent packed” show supporting Tuesday’s gala presentation of Australian Bush Laureate Awards in Tamworth.

Awards will be presented in six categories – Book of the Year, Album of the Year, Bush Poem of the Year, Single Recorded Performance of the Year, Children’s Poem of the Year as well as the Judith Hosier Heritage Award.

Regarded every year as one of the best shows of the entire Tamworth Country Music Festival, the Australian Bush Laureate Awards this year will feature a number of Awards finalists as well as bush poets Greg North and Paddy Ryan.

The Awards also feature a number of special guest country music and variety stars – rising and established – and this year is no exception.

Included on the guest list are up and coming duo Brade, country comic and ventriloquist Darren Carr, Ashleigh Dallas, Rex Dallas, Melanie Dyer, Ted Egan, Grant Luhrs, Greg & Sara Storer and Ami Williamson.

Compere for the event is the ever affable and hilarious Jim Haynes. Tickets for the Awards can be purchased  online at www.tcmf.com.au, by telephoning 02 6767 5300 or over the counter at the Tamworth Visitor Information Centre on the corner of Peel and Murray Streets.
