TSA TAMWORTH SONGWRITERS’ ASSOCIATION 2010 AWARDS

1.30pm TSA Songwriters Showcases
Chillingworth Room West Leagues Club
Free Entry:
  Songwriters this day are Carmel Charlton, Jamie Agius, Michelle Little, Johnny Doyle, Barry K and Lin Chandler, Christie Lamb, Patti McKinnon and 8 Ball Aiken

9.00am TSA Songwriter Workshop
Uniting Church, St Andrews Room Marius Street

Alan Caswell is this years’ tutor. He is celebrating his 30th Anniversary of his first Golden Guitar win this January and was the 1988 Songmaker Award winner at the TSA Awards.  Workshop will be held at the Uniting Church, St Andrews Room in Marius Street starting at 9.00am and finishing at 3pm. Cost is $40.00 for non-members and $25.00 for members. Morning tea and lunch included. Places are limited so please call Wendy 0401 079 363 to reserve your spot.

Songwriters this day are:-  Sonya Tralar, John Scholton, Phillip Doring, Wayne Higgins, Maria Forde, The Dirt Road Cowgirls, Craig Sinclair and Nick Aitken

Wednesday 20 January
9.00am TSA AGM
Uniting Church , St Andrews Room, Marius Street.

TSA Members and interested persons, who may be in Tamworth are invited to come along and meet the TSA Team

8pm TSA Gala concert and Awards Night
Blazes Auditorium, Wests League Club.

Guest artists: Allan Caswell, Karen Lynne, Craig Giles, Those Gals, David Delle-Vergin, Harmony James, Tom Maxwell, Ronni Rae Rivers, Grant Luhrs, Lou Bradley and Daly Stephenson, with a special tribute to Rita Schneider by Melinda Schneider, Mary Schneider, Geoff Mack during the evening.

Winner of the TSA Salute Awards, Capital News/Avis New Songwriter Award, Songmaker Award, Tex Morton Award and National Song Contest will be announced on the evening.

Clair Hayes and Grant Luhrs are the show comperes.  Artists  supported by the TSA Showband, led by Geoff Clapson.

2.00pm TSA Songwriters Showcase 
Chillingworth Room West Leagues Club

Free Entry: Songwriters for the day are Leo and Rhonda Babako, Patricia Cruzado, Amber Joy Poulton, Wendy Wood, Damien Howard and the Ploughboys, Sally-Anne Whitten, Adam Toms and Lawrie Minson and Matt Scullion.

6.00pm Pass the Guitar
Uniting Church, St Andrews Room, Marius Street

Come along and hear the songwriters perform their own songs and tell the stories about how they came to write them. If you’re a songwriter join the circle and sing yours too.

Cavalcade:
The TSA will once again be entering a float in the cavalcade and all members are invited to take part.

Winners will be announced at TSA’s Gala Concert & Awards Night on Wednesday 20 January 2010, at the West Tamworth Leagues Club.  Also presented will be the Songmaker Award which is decided on votes by TSA’s members, and the Tex Morton Award to someone who has made a lasting contribution to the cause of Country Music in Australia.

The committee of the Tamworth Songwriters Association hope you all have a wonderful Festival for 2010, and look forward to catching up with you at our festival events.________________________________________
