THE PANICS SUPPORTED BY MATHESON AND THE BLOODPOETS
(8-Sep-09)

THE JD SET PROUDLY PRESENTS THE PANICS SUPPORTED BY MATHESON AND THE BLOODPOETS FOR TOUR # 3 OF 2009!

Sydney, Australia – For Release 4 September, 2009:

Following two weeks of online voting by music fans, Jack Daniel’s is excited to announce that sharing the stage with THE PANICS on the third tour of THE JD SET (www.thejdset.com.au) for 2009 are Victoria’s  alt-country rockers MATHESON and for the first time this year Queenslanders have scored themselves a spot with THE BLOODPOETS!

Quirky MATHESON want to learn a few things from this tour! After securing their place on the tour bus lead singer Aaron Matthews said “We'd like to learn how to get through airport screening without at least one of us being pulled aside for a rub with the magic wand. We'd like to learn more about WA. From what we know, it's a wonderful state. It's always great to see how different bands approach playing to different crowds. We wanna know what love is. We want The Panics to show us.” WA and The Panics better watch out when these guys roll into town!

THE BLOODPOETS are a little more philosophical about touring with The JD Set, “being part of The JD Set is something we are extremely excited about. To support The Panics, a band we've looked up to for so long, is going to be a big learning curve for us.  We feel our music is something that appeals to the same audience and being part of the tour with The Panics will give us the chance to learn about larger scale tours and give us the opportunity to play to a new audience.”

THE PANICS really sum up the sentiment of both bands with lead singer Jae Laffer saying "after spending most of the year overseas touring the UK, we're extremely happy to back on the road in Australia and really looking forward to playing some special JD Set shows. We're particularly proud to be taking on board some of the country’s new talent and putting them up there on the big stage with us. We plan to make it one big party, see you at a gig!"

Jack Daniel’s is continuing to support the strength and growth of the Australian live music scene through THE JD SET. Voting numbers were again high as fans chose who they wanted to see on tour with the headline act. THE PANICS follow You Am I and Faker, who hit the road for The JD Set’s first two tours earlier in the year.

A key element of THE JD SET will be involvement with Support Act Limited (SAL) Australia’s Music Industry Benevolent Fund which provides relief and assistance to members of the Australian music industry in need or suffering hardship.
