Karma County’s Brendan Gallagher Returns With New Solo AlbumTooraloo & Tender
Some albums only last in the CD player a month or two before it’s time to find the next new thing. Some get played for a couple of years before they start to fade from memory. Brendan Gallagher’s ‘Tooraloo And Tender’ is an album you’ll keep coming back to... time and time again.
Front man for the legendary Karma County, songwriter extraordinaire, ARIA award-winning producer and in demand author, Gallagher’s experience in the music industry is as extensive as it has been influential.
But sometimes though it’s just about the music. ‘Tooraloo And Tender’ is Gallagher’s second solo album after the 2006 release of ‘On Eve St’ and once again the artist has crafted a collection of beautifully, intimate classics.
‘Tooraloo And Tender’ showcases 11 new songs (and a re-interpretation of Van Morrison’s ‘One Irish Rover’), including the new single ‘Try, Try Again’ which features in the new Australian film Subdivision directed by Sue Brooks (Japanese Story). Brendan also composed and produced the film’s soundtrack.
This album echoes with the thirty years experience Gallagher has had making music, be it recording for David Bowie, producing Jimmy Little’s classic album ‘Messenger’ or writing a book about open-tuning for guitar.
