Busking can take on many forms - all entertaining!

One of the most famous features of the Festival are the buskers who line Peel Street, performing day and night. Busking on Peel Street has been the springboard for many artists including Kasey Chambers, Adam Brand and Keith Urban. You never know who you might see performing on the street. Keep your eyes and ears PEELED! Judges cruise Peel Street throughout the Festival and up to 12 finalists are chosen to perform at the Best of the Buskers Competition Final  Contact Tamworth Regional Council for busking registration/permits.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It is a Tamworth Regional Council requirement that all Buskers be registered in the championships and the entry form records your full particulars and advises the conditions of entry. One of the most important rules closely monitored is amplification and the acoustic busking zone in Fitzroy Street. There will a restriction of 80db for all buskers and there will be no designated “acoustic only” areas. Should a busker exceed the noise restrictions Council Rangers who patrol the streets checking sound levels may shut you down. This is to ensure everyone gets a fair go. 

If you need to move equipment in and out of any closed street by way of a vehicle you will need to have an official permit available from Council’s offices. Without this permit infringement notices will be issued.
